Spent this afternoon on the Roller I got last week - it hasn't cleaned up too bad - not bad for something over 40 years old probably ...
steamed it and it runs like a rocket !
all indoors now on the shelves in my office -and you can smell them ..
problem is, need something else to clean now

what do you reckon ... Maybe I ought to start taking commissions ...

as bought

cleaned up a bit

About 2 hours this afternoon, wheels were the hardest bit to do, but didn't come up too bad in the end - I was going to repaint them and the firebox, but I reckon it's good enough to leave as it's all original paint - spent quite a bit of time on the chrome firebox bit too, it was quite rough behind the wheels but has buffed up like new. Most pleased with the whistle though - sounds great !

Cheers

I have some small rubber blocks that air impregnated with fine grit ( Loyblox ) and they are great for cleaning up metal - then polish liberally with Solvol - many years practice with motorbikes

I am tempted to polish one of mine up, I only run one. I assume a little automotive wax and some metal polish and it would be done.
I have three Mamods that take the same Safety Valve, but one valve is all messed up but looks fine, I could put it on the shiny looker. LOL I need projects, it keeps my hands busy and keeps me from cleaning up my messy house.

All of mine are fired regularly - it's a bit like having a toy and not playing with it - I have never been the same since watching Toy Story - I don't want no " Stinky Petes " ....

Thanks for the kind comments chaps

wow, shame you can't see Bessy's wheels anymore, they have tyres now! If you could I'd polish them up like that.
