We get antiques roadshow here on TV weekday arvos at 4.30pm
If I get the chance I watch it.
A few weeks ago, they mentioned at the start of the show about a kid and his model steam engines who was on a previous show showed them
Apparently people contacted the show and donated more to him. He was only young, about 12 or 13.
He ended up with a lot, and from the pics theu showed (that he sent in) he had some nice rare ones too.

Anyone got any info on that episode?

I'm not sure what year it was originally shown, as they would be behind a bit here.

If the show ever comes to OZ, I might send my daughter on with my engines, and she can say she collects them.
Might get some donations

Pity though at her age of 3 1/2 she call of them steam trains, and explain how the Chimneys on them are like "Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory" (the original)

The antiques roadshow that was on this week had someone with a fantastic bing loco and tender, didnt see what guage but it was larger than a Mamod loco and longer. As you said Wallace it was probably filmed 2 years ago.
We are still watching unshown episodes of Time Team in OZ, I'm sure that stopped filming them atleast 2 years ago.

I missed that episode

Speaking of being behind.

I used to watch Grange Hill. I loved that show.
This was in the late 80's when I was about 12.
We had a kid move over here from the UK.
I became, and am still good mates with him. I couldn't beleive that the epsidoes over there had some teachers, who were still students in the episodes here.

Now that, was a good show

I'll put a but after comments probably should be a

What do you reckon was your worst show guys?

I reckon yours was "Prisoner Cell Block H"

I reckon ours was "Blakes 7"

Hmm, I'm not too sure.

That Prisoner did have really bad acting.
I think now though, Home and Away would have to be one of the worst.
There has been plenty of others too.
Sunset Beach.

Can't think of any real bad UK shows.
My Mum loves coronation St. I used to find it pretty bad when I was young, but just before I moved out, started watching it with her

Heartbreak High was OZ's worst show. After 2 weeks it got shifted from 6pm to 11pm after a few months was taken off the air in Australia but still made for another season or two just for the UK.

I'm not including all the crap reality shows that have been made in OZ in the last year and canned after a few episodes. 'Yazmin is getting Married' takes the record for shortest reality show in OZ, was canned after only 2 nights.

What about "Bluey Hills" mate? Is he still going.

He used to start chasing some criminal down the street, and in the next shot he'd catch him, but he'd be wearing a different tie.

Coronation Street is an institution over here mate. Never really bothered much myself. At least it seems to be relatively light hearted though.

We have another one called Eastenders, nobody ever smiles, and the Christmas special always leaves you wanting to cut you wrists.

Bluey Hills?
I think that was just before my time, well watching wise anyway.
But if it's the one I'm thinking off, was he a really huge guy, with a moustache?
If so, a comedy show here ripped him off, dubbed in it's own voices, and it was called bargearse
Very good to watch

My sister used to watch Eastenders. That's the one that starts with the aerial view, of a city, perhaps London and the Thames?

Right on both counts Wallace. Bluey Hills was about a big fat guy with a moustache.

Eastenders starts with an aerial view of London.

I remember bargarse. I used to watch that one Friday night before going out drinking, whilest sitting in drinking with firends.
I loved the starting sequence, showed 'Bargarse' eating about 4 hotdogs and skulling about 6 cans of beer.
Final episode was hilarious, all killed by a fart joke...
Bargarse had just finished eating another curry or something like that and let a huge one rip and someone walked into the room and lit up a cigarette, it cut to the outside of the building and it all blew up.
Not so funny when I tell it but was to watch.

On another note Wallace do you remember when for a short period of time a brewery in OZ made Duff beer.
Complete Simpson rip off and in a very short period of time the Simpsons series owner told then stop or we will sue you to death.
I used to drink it and throw the cans in the bin. An opened 6 pack of Duff now fetches up to $800 Australian on a good day.

The dodgey flatbase seller on ebay OZ has a six pack for sale and it is at $137.50 at the moment.
To think if I'd only saved the beer instead of drinking it I could pay off my house now.

Last year someone sold a carton of it and the starting bid was $2000

I consider Home and Away the same as Fosters... too crap for Australia so we have to send it somewhere else.
