Got up at 3, gimmer started to lamb. Sat there for an hour, listening to her pushing in pain, squealing her head off and none stop bleating.

I was so excited when I saw the feet, then the head!

It come out not breathing, like all, and we were expecting a cough and a splutter and then come to life.

My dad was 20 minutes trying to bring it round. 20 minutes. Tried everything, swinging it, dunking it in water, even mouth to mouth. But, all to no avail. No luck.

He was a pretty little lamb aswell. I'd say he would have died because of the fact she is a gimmer, and never done it before, so it goes slower.

Words can't describe how upset I am. Waited since September 10th for this. The past couple of weeks I have been so excited! I feel it for the sheep, as she went through all this for nothing. Just hope there is another one now.

Really, really, gutted

It was as tup, and to big for her on her first time.

Just rang Martin Robinson who we bought her off and whos tup we ran her with. He said it would have been dead while it was inside her, and that's why it was born at that time of the night.

She won't settle, she's up and down and bleating her head off to try and find her lamb. We rang Carol Martin who is the head of the Lincoln Longwool Breeders Association, and she is looking out for a caid Lincoln lamb for her, she's ringing us back before 4.

If we can't get one of them, we are getting a Texel off Martin. I know it isn't a Lincoln but it will satisfy her needs, she has teats like 2 inches down and she's full of milk.

Not at school today, had half an hours sleep all night. Up and down checking if she was any further as she was a gimmer so would probably need help. She did. Old man had to pull it out. It was a big lamb though, and would have made a beautiful tup.

Male sheep with bollocks, not castrated. You can call them rams aswell. Tup is just slang for shag

She's laid next to me now, just given her 200ml of nice warm milk.

She still doesn't make up for the dead one

I know buddy, but it must be a rewarding experience seeing that new little life there.

I'm sure things will be OK next time.
