I just received a stack of photocopies from old magazines articles to build toy steam engines and this one caught my eye.
Have a look at the photo. They are using a blowtorch for the heat source!

On having a quick read of the article it has been designed to heat the boiler with a blow torch.
Thats a first steam toy I've seen designed for that sort of punishment.

Maybe Mamod could release new blowtorch powered models.
I can see the law suites rushing in now

It is not an add.
Its an article to make the engine from an old magazine.
The article is written by a Manly Banister do not know what the magazine was called.
The boiler is brazed not soft soldered and has a coil of copper pipe in the firebox the flame is aimed at not the boiler itself.
It would work but I would not want any child of mine using a blow torch to run a toy engine!!
