I put this engine on my table at the STWWW '09 and had overwhelming support for it's restoration.

Engine was stripped down,

and paint stripped off.
Some confusion on my part as I found, after first layer of stipping, pale green paint on the firebox. Was this its original colour, excitement mounts, - - no assured by those who know these things that this was the primer coat

After re-painting the parts looked a whole lot better!

and when assembled,

So thanks to STWWW for the spur to get going and encouragment from a lot of visitors to my table - its done - and well worth the effort and a week of evenings in the workshop

Red, and chimney black, from local hardware store, (plasticote).
Firebox black was Very High Temperature paint from an auto store - intended for exhaust systems.

Both from spray cans.

Excellent job there Barry.

That engine will be good for many years now.

Great resurrection.

Great job Barry!

You don't see too many of that Bowman, so it's great you have preserved the life of that one
