|
|
Visited my brother in law today and whilst there we got out his Wilesco traction engine which has been stored for the last 20 odd years and fired it up.
It worked well but I noticed the crank shaft that the flywheel attaches to is bent so it gets a nasty wobble on the flywheel.
Anyone got a spare crankshaft floating about or know a good place to buy Wilesco spares from? _________________ http://www.freewebs.com/ozsteam/index.htm

Tony, I have heard this Guy is good, but he is situated in Germany, hence the postage might work out expensive.

Bent crank? ONLY, bent?
Won`t it straighten?
Flat steel surface and a lump of lead. Works wonders! _________________ David.

AH. Takes me back to the workbench mate.
Many a time I've used that technique. _________________ Ouch! Where's the burn cream

It`s GOTTA be cheaper & quicker than a new crank! _________________ David.

Ah!
It makes all the difference, when someone else is paying, Tony! _________________ David.
