Well, about a hour ago, my mamod's cylinder came flying off, sending steam everywhere. I was lucky enough to get away, apparently the screw that held the cylinder in place was loose and came off. I have gotton it back together, and am now scared to run it. Another example of fine enginnering on mamod's part.

No nothing to do with the engineering, you should have made sure it was tight, NEVER stand over the engine either!

THERE IS ALWAYS AN ELEMENT OF DANGER WHEN IT COMES TO MODEL STEAM! IF YOU DON'T LIKE THE IDEA OF DANGER TAKE UP GARDENING

Gardening can be even more dangerous, a roto-tiller can chop your leg right off.

Logan...
No need to blame your engine for the problem. You have to look your engines over each time you run them. They will need small tweaks and tightening of screws and such over time. It's quite easy to do this as you apply needed lubrication prior to running them.

Problem... Operator malfunctioning
Solution.... removed and replaced malfunctioning operator. Dipsosed of old operator using approved decontamination and disposal procedure.

Best
Steve
