As Tony had said, it's important to set a date so we can all have our projects, vids and pics ready for the appointed weekend.

Steve has suggested a weekend in October when all of the main steam events are over.

Lets have a few suggestions and tell us what you think.

Sandman.

I have to admit, I am still rather confused as to how this would work?  I would happily keep my X plant running all day!!!!  I can keep that mess going for hours and hours, only brief stops for oiling.  This is, of course, if I can keep that pump working *&^%$#$#@$#!@#$%^!@!!!!!.  Unless I can afford to buy one of those machined kits before this "event"

Heck...  I would fire all I have one after the other, but the 21 is the only one right now I can keep running continuously because I can fill it with out cooling it first....
??

I would like to participate, but I dunno how!!!!

Don't worry mate, things are still a bit fluid as yet. This is the very first time this has been done and the exact formula is not yet decided.

Suffice to say that over the two day period members will be posting steam videos, pics, projects and even amusing steam oriented stories.

We are also looking at creating special threads for the event only to allow some friendly steam chat etc. etc. The same as would happen at a conventional steam event.

These are just some of the ideas that are coming thick and fast from our members who want to be part of this cutting edge experience.

Now then back to the topic.

Dates please guys.  Dates please.

October 11th and 12th sounds fine to me. Presumably the actual length will be longer than 48 hours because of the different time zones. That is, midnight on Friday 10th Oct in New Zealand to midnight on Sunday 12th Oct On the US west coast. And even longer if we have members in mid Pacific!

OK.. Sounds like some kind of a plan.  Maybe I can get Al to join me (especially with that amazing collection), and don't we have a member in Connecticut? so we would all be within a few hours of eachother.
It would be awsome indeed if we can pull it off!!!

Jeez Steve, I never thought of that.

This global thing is quite challenging.

Yes, it only occurred to me just now! Shouldn't be a problem though... people can log in whenever they're up and about.

My wife wants to be in the UK in October, who knows if I could tear myself away from my work I might even be in the UK then, but I'm guess my wife will and I won't be.
