Hi all, been browsing this site for a little while, joined at the weekend. Had an interest in steam since college which was quite a while ago. I can just remember my grandad taking me to the colliery engine yards, full of loco's, in the northeast before electricity took hold. Personally I don't believe in electricity, I've never even seen it! I have been looking for a model to restore and won one at the weekend, but I may have upset Kart90 by sniping him, sorry! This is what I won:
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAP...;ssPageName=ADME:B:EOIBSA:GB:1123
It looks like an SE2 from the boiler but the pipework / piston seems to be an SE1, I'll know more when I get it. Will put up some pics in the restoration forum when I get it.
Cheers,
Scott |

Hi and welcome to the forum, I think you are right in the fact that it is a SE2, congratulations on the win. _________________ Les - Nolo Servile Capistrum

Welcome and that looks like a nice SE2, late 1960s i would think.
The pipes and piston are the same as an SE1 at that time, superheated, the only difference really is a whistle and the steam regulator lever on the exhaust pipe on the SE2. _________________ You cant get an engine for that anymore unless you are lucky |

Hi Scott,
Another welcome from Indiana, USA. Don't lose any sleep over sniping Kart90...happens to all of us...sometimes we snipe, sometimes we get sniped.
cheers,

Hi, and welcome from Perth Western Australia.
All is fair on ebay.
I've been beaten plenty of times on ebay by other members on this forum but thats ok as it is an auction so the item must go to the highest bidder.
Have fun with the restoration. _________________ http://www.freewebs.com/ozsteam/index.htm
