Hi, I found a Jensen 65, and i am wondering what it's worth, it's pretty bad, bent steam pipe, no whistle or SV, and it looks like an older model with a red decal or non zip-code plates, the newer plate would be left of the steam cylinder, and it might be a copper firebox, so it might be worthwhile

I am really sorry for the small pic  , just try to make the best out of it

Connor

Just blew it up, thiink your right about the colour (old style), should clean up OK.
There appears to be a bit of scale in the boiler.
Take into a/c new whistle, SV, chimney, a burner tray, postage???

I wouldn't pay much for this at all $40 -45 US max.

My 65 looked about the same, but it did have it's whistle and sv, and the steam line was ok.  I paid 45, for what it's worth.

The only thing that scares me on the one you're looking at is the steam line....

I would hold off and wait for another, they are not that rare. By the time you get it right you would have the price of two invested.

I think this is classified as a "parts engine" for the price it is I could just part it out, and make a profit.

..in Germany they are quiet seldom on ebay, I payed 40 € (58 $) for a complete, but similar looking model.
I had to order just gaskets and new wooden handles from the only European Jensen Dealer.
The machine runs like hell after a clean, lube and adjust... wow, what a quality

I think I'll skip this one, it's a great price, it's it's missing so much stuff, it's not worth it. And the jensen parts list doesn't mention a model 65 steam line,

036 Steam Line - Model #60 $39.95
037 Steam Line - Model #76 $39.95
038 Steam Line - Model #25 $45.95
039 Steam Line - Model #75 $45.95
040 Steam Line - Model #70 $45.95

And even if I tried to re-bend, it would have an ugly bump at the point of the bend.

And from looking at it, the boiler straps are rusted, and besides the engine itself, it's just a mess , but like i said the engine is dirt cheap, and i could just take the motor itself, and it would make a good "test motor" so to speak, im having some conflicting thoughts on this one...

BTW, what do guys think it's selling for?

Plus that's a 75 not a 65. Anyway I got an email back from the guy saying he sold it within the first 30 minutes of listing, it was $20, but shipping would have been 3/4 of the engines cost. he also said it was a german engine lol
