Here is what you need to do to embed videos in your post instead of adding a link to the video which will subsequently load in another window:

In YouTube, find the "Embed" button below the video that you want to embed, shown below, then copy (right-click on it, select copy) the code which appears in the box:

In Photobucket, move your mouse over the video you want to embed. Some choces will appear, click on the "HTML code" button. This will automatically copy the code - no need to right-click and select "copy"

Now, go to where you want to embed the video in your post, right-click and select "Paste". A bunch of code will appear at that point. You are done. Click preview to check your post and see if it works properly.

You should get an embedded video that works in the current window, like this:

Youtube has changed a bit, so here is a description of where to click in the current Youtube.

1) Below the video you want to embed, click "Share"
2) New choices will appear... click "Embed"
3) Now you get some options for how big the embedded window will be. Choose a size.
4) Copy the code that appears, and paste the code in the appropriate place in your forum post. It will still look like a bunch of code, but when the message is posted, viewers will see an embedded video.

Any idea what I'm doing wrong? I've been trying to post a video, following the instructions above, and when I click on preview, I just get a big blank space. I've tried both of the Youtube code options and no joy.

Any thoughts?

EDIT: it seems to work when I submit, but not preview.

I've heard that the preview screen occasionally doesn't show the embedded video properly, but I don't know why. Once submitted, it apparently always views properly.
