Well I finally managed to do a few video's of the 55 running.
It is a good job I am now on Broadband, as I would have stood no chance with my old Dial up.
Firstly a vid of the engine free running
This is as slow as I could manage to get her running. I think this engine is a good candidate for the slow running record.
Now a video with the Generator hooked up
Finally a night shot

That Generator takes a fair bit of driving. The engine will hold it steady through out the run, but the high RPM's are gone. _________________ Make time to take a step back, and appreciate what you already have. |

Only been into this for a few weeks, and think I am turning out to be more of a mobile man than a stationary one. But I do like the look of the Jensens engines.
Stilll makes me smile that you plug the thing into 240v (or 110v or whatever) to make a 3v lightbulb light up though
Nice engine, thanks for sharing. _________________ Chris

What can I say Griff, your Jensen 55 is in good hands and your videos really help showcase it for the workhorse it is. As far as horses go, it's not built to be an Arabian, more a Clydesdale...but being a Budweiser man I favor the later anyhow. It sure turns that generator with conviction!!! I have never seen a 55 tick over quite so slow as well, I could literally count the revolutions easily.
If anyone else asks about the cable coming out of the firebox...just tell them it's a tube from a remote meths tank just out of view on the pictures.
Seriously, as you guys would say...it's a LUMP...but in a really good kind of way
cheers,
