It's brilliant - so much more satisfying than that crappy Wilesco d3 I bought a week or 2 back!!!!

Some steam escaping from around the whistle (yes I freed it with WD40), safety valve & overflow/drain plug. So it obviously needs new washers.
It ran well forward & reverse but didn't seem to have enough power to drive itself; I'm assuming that this is down to the steam leaks & wheels that proably need a bit more oil.

So here's one I will be cleaning up & not even think of restoring!!!!

Can't wait to try the SR1 now

Ian.

Nice one Ian. Spokesman is dead right, get everything steam tight and you'll be surprised at how fast it moves. Great stuff.

Nice one Ian!

Get some oil on it and a few new washers and it'll go like the clappers

Yes, tighten the whistle up and get new washers and it should run good, they are really fast and suprisingly strong.

Lot's of fun up ahead, good to hear it's running. Once you get the leaks fixed, if still lacking power, try a couple drops of oil at mouth of cylinder while it's running...may need some running-in?

You will find a fair new TE1a's have just been put in lofts after 2-3 runs from kids in the 70's.

A lot of Mamods do still need running in as you said though Chuck, keep 'em oiled up
