Welcome to my dry dock. I'm showing only one boat, but the restoration of it will continue as a thread in the Steam Launches and Boats forum. I photographed as I received it this week.
It's a 1920s warship, 37" long, currently powered by a three wick burner (not pictured) heating a small horizontal boiler with superheated steam going to a little Cheddar Pipit engine. I haven't removed the firebox yet, so I'm not sure if the boiler is scratch built or not. I can't see a safety valve.

Is the boat complete superstructure wise and can we have some close ups of the boiler and engine?? _________________ Les - Nolo Servile Capistrum

yes, the boat is watertight, but is missing the masts (there are a couple of bits left).
I'm tempted to convert it to a turbine.

Thanks for those, the only problem you will have with the Pipit is only one speed and one direction, no reverse when you need it. _________________ Les - Nolo Servile Capistrum

| I'll definitely fit RC, and would like to put a reversing engine in, but space is limited, a better engine would probably require a bigger boiler, and there's certainly no space for that. |

... a wonderful model! A destroyer, a corvette or a frigate? Will look awesome in the water. I'm looking forward to watching your progress in resto and refitting with r/c and all ... I've a soft spot for r/c ship models. _________________ Says Tom

Hello Tom, really glad you like her, I hoped you would.
She's a C class light cruiser, 1914-1917. |
