|
|
I have this IP Jane / PPS Janet composite loco which I wish to return to steam, but it is missing a few parts.
I require the following parts to complete the rebuild: -
1. A reverser/regulator valve - can be a Mamod, MSS or PPS one.
2. Washers and circlips to hold the coupling rods to the wheels.
3. A Roundhouse Lubricator.
4. A ceramic burner. I have the horizontal gas tank, pipe and jet.
Thanks for looking, and please PM me if you have any of the above parts available.
Thank you.
Chris Cairns. |

It works! |
The boiler is silver soldered and it has steel wheels.
Basically it has all the upgrades we want to do to a Mamod loco when we buy it. _________________ http://www.freewebs.com/ozsteam/index.htm

As I stated in my posting on my IP Jane ( http://modelsteam.myfreeforum.org/about4212.html ) the only part this shares with the old Mamod locos is the smokebox casting.
Everything else is different and improved.
1. New Chassis Plates.
2. Steel Wheels.
3. Uprated Pistons with gland nuts.
4. Silver Soldered boiler for higher pressure. This one is the latest PPS one with the extra take-offs for whistle and pressure gauge.
5. Water Top-up valve.
6. Uprated Safety Valve.
7. Cab Regulator for easier control of steam, and thus speed.
8. Different style bodywork - open cab makes seeing water level (in a sight glass tube), accessing lubricator, meths burner/gas tank easier.
9. Brass Tank filler tops, handrails and dummy whistle.
10. Improved PPS Regulator/Reverser valve fitted at front.
11. Overall weight increase (I believe PPS add weights inside the sidetanks as well on the PPS Janet) which makes it less likely to derail on Mamod track.
I still enjoy my stock Mamods, but I got these bits to provide something different. But it still needs the above bits, plus some steam pipes and screws & nuts to complete.
PPS do a brass dome to cover up the top-up valve if you miss having a dome, and also a nice brass chimney cap, which is much better proportioned that fitting the Mamod Traction Engine/Steam Roller one. They also do a cabroof addition if you miss that as well.

Just adding this posting to bring this 'Wanted' item to the top again.
Still after the above parts. If you have any of these available please PM me soon. Thank you.
Otherwise it is going to be a big order to PPS for these bits and other enhancements. |
