Received this flatbase today, which was a suprise, wasn't expecting it for a while. Anyway...

Looks to be in good shape, it's complete, all valves etc. Base is in excellent condition, firebox is a bit scorched but it's still a gooden me thinks .

I have fired it too, the video i'll include in here ran ok, flywheel came a bit loose, and it didn't like running at first because it wasn't level (2 feet are missing). Once I got the engine level it ran well. Someone has attempted to clean it, but not very well, missed lots of bits and pieces so i'll be stripping it down for a full clean. Flywheel is missing some paint but I've got a spare one from the 50's that will go on there

Ran it outside because it was a nice day . I'll post up pictures when i've cleaned it fully

Need to work on levelling those feet though.

Needs a washer, it was minimal, didn't really effect the run

It's on the to-do list

I'm really surprised about the leveling phenomenon! Could it be that the piston
rod rubs the crank when not level? I like the sound of it running, like a motorboat.
