Ok, here's the first pics of my new Steam Roller. This is it coming out the box. I brought it just before Christmas and only paid £60.00 for it. Arrived about an hour ago. The Steam Roller must date from 1962 - 63 because has burner attached to scuttle but also has Thorns Road address (moved 62)
As an extra bonus (not not mentioned anywhere in the sale) these were in the box. 6 extra drive belts in original packets. Must date from mid to late 60's (I'd guess).

Yea I think with the exception of the paint loss on the boiler, it is going to be a very nice model. _________________ Manx, the mobile man |

A few knocks adds to the charm of these engines. I bought two TEs this year and apart from cleaning, de-rusting and lubricating, not to mention a little un-bending - I left them exactly how they were. |

OK, a quick clean before I go out and here is my new Steam Roller with the one I already own. A bit more paint came off with the cleaning! but still a good model.

Very nice indeed , A nice addition to your already impressive collection.
The packaged drive bands are a real bonus, the earlier ones too, they are a slightly thicker cross section than the 1a type. _________________ Make time to take a step back, and appreciate what you already have. |

| Looking at it closely - I see it has a combined conrod and eyelet type rod! |

Yes I noticed that. Is that what I should expect? _________________ Manx, the mobile man |

Yes, Dauntless' is the same, most probably one of the early ones to leave the Thorns Works. _________________ Make time to take a step back, and appreciate what you already have. |

Mine hasn't but has the seperate brass rod end and rod. Then again I have seen N&B rollers with split scuttle and burner. All I can conclude is that Malins were updating incrementally all the time, so there are very slight variations only people like us would spot. |
