This is my chance to say a big thank you to Dauntless (Paul). Today I got some instructions for my Mastrand engine and a new flywheel.
Paul's plan is that we use these flywheels when 'playing' with the engines and then replace them with the original flywheels for display purposes.
There is no way I could even get close to making one of these. It is a little heavier than the original but other than that a perfect copy and now means my engine can be used without the risk of the flywheel falling to pieces as it spins.
The instuctions are getting a little sad and need to be handled carefully. I just now need to decide if I want to put them in the laminator at work, to keep them going.
So a pic of my now complete Mastrand engine and a very big thankyou to Dauntless for all his kindness and help.

Nice one Manxman. It's great when you manage to get all the bits and pieces for an engine.
Dauntless, a first class job on that flywheel. _________________ Make time to take a step back, and appreciate what you already have. |

It would be good to see a set of really good close up detail shots of the Mastrand parts . . . |

I'll do some Mike. My plan is to run my Mastrand this weekend, then clean it and do pics. You're right that I've not used it. I've just not been brave enough with the flywheel. Now with a second flywheel things will be different. Should be fun. _________________ Manx, the mobile man |

Good Manx, I wlike to see pics as if they have been taken revealing all the aspects of the design, almost like I feel I have one!
Im off in a mo to collect my Luton PW201, I intend to get plenty of good close up shots to reveal engine build and detailing - a straight on elevation shot reveals nothing!
As far as the Mastrand goes it would be good to see the parts we dont normally get posted - basically so it feels like I have had the model in my hands and know the intricate detailing and manufacture of it! |
