Brasso, wadding, very fine wet and dry and plenty of rubbing. Oh and a few dollops of elbow grease!

I just successfully shined up the wheels on my Sr1 by taking them through grades of W&D from 180 to 600 and finished on a buffing machine and they look great now.
I also did the flywheel but just buffed that didn't use any W&D on it as it wasn't scuffed up as much as the wheels.

Have you looked at my post in the restoration section on my SR1.
I actually have reflections in the rear wheels.

Yes need to take them off to do what I did.
But they had to come off on mine so I could remove the rust from the chrome cowling.
If you are careful you can reuse the hub caps, you only need to remove one and I refitted it without any problems but saying that I damaged one on my Te1a when I removed the wheels but you can buy new hub caps for next to nothing, they are so cheap I keep a set spare just in case.

I've still got my dremel I bought in the UK. I think I bought mine from B&Q.
