My 'new' loco arrived today along with a Hornby Buffer and track.
Now this loco is in BAD condition and will need a huge amount of work and new parts made so I probably won't be attempting this one for some time, certainly not until I've found a photo of a complete one so I can attempt to copy some of the missing parts.

Here it is in all its errrr glory?

As you can see we are missing the front wheels, one clip for the burner as well as several other bits.

Its also missing its cylinder and piston but the lead flywheel is intact which quite often is damaged because it wasn't uncommon for these to derail, spill their meths everywhere and for the flywheel to literally melt.

The gears are all there but all out of wack

As you can see some heavy corrosion on the boiler (Hope it's still sound) and the front steel plate that held the buffers has rusted away and will need to be replaced

This is the burner that came with it that may or may not be the right one.

The burner is definately Bing as my filler plug from my other single cylinder Bing fits it and its identical to the burner from this Bing that sold on ebay a while back.

Notice the gear is the same on this Bing as mine

Also the chimney is the same as mine

So I'm convinced its a Bing in absolutely terrible shape, don't know which model as I can't find any photos of one similar and I'm also not convinced the frame that holds the wheels is original either as it just doesn't look quite right.

But if anyone has seen a photo of an engine like this let me know.

BIG BIG job this one.

A big job and no mistake Tony.

If your leaving it till later, I've found if you clean off the corrosion on the boiler and apply a coat of olive oil to the cleaned surface, it seems to stop it in its tracks. (If it hasn't gone too far)

Light reapplications keeps all in order.

Just cleared some of the corrosion off the front of the boiler and it has pin holes.

Looks like it will need a new end cap too.

It's a bit of a mess, so I look forwards to its transformation.
