Yesterday, I finished a crane that I am going to display at Amberley the weekend after next. It is hand cranked, as I don't like the idea of an MM1 perched over the back of a crane! The original idea was for the jib to move up and down as well, but I didn't see the need for it... Pictures in a mo, if the thing connects to the computer It can lift all my nuts and bolts (roughly 1.5KG) and the cable is simple sewing thread!

a brief search of downstairs computer's processor was made to find the cable still plugged into a USB port, bloody sister Any way, here are the pics:

A view of the way that I use my hand to power it, that is via the crank, the long axle is to hold the pulley in place whilst I turn the top section around...

This shows the top with my special bay to place items in for it to lift

An overall view of the crane

first, the foundations have been strenghthened
second, the Locomobile (not a locothingybrassything) would tip it over if perched on top
third, the Locomobile can't be attached to Meccano
fourth, the MM1, the only WORKING engine I have that can be atached to Meccano runs in one direction
fifth, if the M158 runs in either direction, that will be attached in due course
