Listed as a Baltimore loco? I have not even thought of these in several years? Built in the US using the Mamod as influence back in the 1980s by a builder in New York.

They were 45mm gauge only however. _________________ Garrett |

All the production Creeksides were gauge 1, but the prototype was gauge 0 and is I believe still owned by Marc Horovitz . His "Locomotive of the month" feature for August 2000 gives as much of the Creekside story as is known.
My own example is unusual in that it was supplied in red, I understand all others were black.

Yup, listed that above in the second message. I remember these in the early issue of GR, but have never seen one "in the tin!" _________________ Garrett |

I see its starting bid is $219 and has a reserve, any idea what it is worth? |
I wouldn't do much more than the starting bid, but then 45mm gauge Mamods have been selling in the high $200s on eBay.
While "inspired" by Mamod, I honestly do not know if any bits are interchangable in case of any repairs being needed.
In the end, it will be worth exactly between what the top two bidders decide its worth! _________________ Garrett |

I don't think they share any Mamod bits. Its only the concept of the reverse valve at the front they share.

True but I try not to buy for more than I could sell it again should I ever need to so I don't loose money.
In about 2 or 3 weeks time I will have a fully equipped workshop so should I ever need replacement parts I could make them myself.
I figured the starting price was pretty close to what it was worth but just wanted to check.

While it does have a defenite "rare" factor to it, I am not sure if it has any financial collectable status. _________________ Garrett |

That suits me fine as rare expensive engines you don't really want to run and I like to run mine. _________________ http://www.freewebs.com/ozsteam/index.htm

Did some checking in some old (22 years ago) issues of Garden Railways and they were selling around $190 new then, more with R/C. _________________ Garrett |
