Could you all give me opinions on this:
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAP...em=160056546458&rd=1&rd=1
Do you think I should make the kit up, or leave it as is, and after a while sell it on for loads of money? I await your response

Make it up mate.
Kiel Kraft kits will never command very high prices MTA.
As a general rule, in order to be valuable in it's unmade form, the kit has to be of a popular subject, and has to be produced by a popular manufacturer (Airfix 1/72 scale spitfire in plastic bag type packaging with clear plastic stand for example). Even so, it's a very rare kit that commands big numbers (such as the first edition Aurora movie monsters). This one fails on both fronts.
To construct, though, it will be very satisfying (loads of scope for personalised liveries), and the completed item, will be well worth having, and look good on the old shelf. _________________ He who keeps his head while all about him are losing theirs, doesn't know how serious it is. |

Thanks Yosa, if I get it I plan to take my time with it as these kits arent so common to come by, so I don't want to bugger it up. it shall be emblazoned with "S. King Hauliers Ltd." on the side _________________ Si

You can give it some weight if you want to MTA.
Just minor things like replacing the plastic axles with steel amd so on.
What colour is the proposed livery?
Don't forget to post pics of the finished model. _________________ He who keeps his head while all about him are losing theirs, doesn't know how serious it is. |

I've always liked to see steam engines in dark Green, plus I've decided to use aerosols on this one, as I don't want to brush the whole thing! Plus my local model shop has some lining tape, so I might give that a go Of course I'll post pics I saw a Keill Aveling Roller for sale last year at a model show, they wanted £20 for it _________________ Si

I agree with your colour choice as being the best for a vehicle, or maroon sometimes as well.
When it comes to vehicles, aerosols or airbrushes are the only way to go.
Was the Kiel roler made up, or still in the box?
Don't forget a light sand of the road tyres, to texture them a bit, really adds to the realism. _________________ He who keeps his head while all about him are losing theirs, doesn't know how serious it is. |

The £20 roller wasn't made up I was tempted to purchase, but luckily someone got it before me I've never thought about sanding wheels for texture... I shall have to try it Got any more good tips Yosa? How did the Wallace and Gromit kit go by the way? _________________ Si

Best way to do the wheels mate, put them in a drill chuck and lightly scuff them against a sandpaper pad.
Not started the W & G van yet, but you've got me fired up now.
Anyway, I'm off to nod now, see you mate. _________________ He who keeps his head while all about him are losing theirs, doesn't know how serious it is. |

Looks a nice kit MTA
As others said, build it, I think it'd come up real nice personalised, as I reckon you'd put some good work into it mate.
Any model I built would be classed as nice if it only had 2 glue fingerprints on it, rather than 10
I guess that's why most of my models ended up with petrol or meths poured on them, or had a bunger stuck in them then lit _________________

I'm the king of glue fingerprints, so I'm gonna keep a rag nearby to wipe it off That reminds me, I need some more Revell Precision Glue _________________ Si
