My Grandmother Amy Briggs sadly passed away on Sunday 29th November, after a period of illness in hospital. The funeral service was today. The funeral was simple but poignant, a beautifully hand woven wicker casket decorated with flowers, in the presence of her family and friends.
Although my Gran was 91 years, it is always a difficult time when you lose someone close to you, the whole occasion is somewhat surreal, a celebration of life as much as a marking of the end of her life. Grief is a hard thing to come to terms with and the realisation of their parting can be hard to grasp. Amy I believe was the longest lived of her brother and sister, who sadly we are no longer in touch with. Sadly her last days on earth were painful, in hospital with a grievous illness. and her parting came as a relief ending her suffering.
Amy lost her husband the love of her life after 60 years in 2001, she adapted to her new life well and still managed to keep her wry sense of humour right up until the last few weeks of her life. She we be dearly missed by all those who had the good fortune to be graced by her in their lives. _________________

It sounds like she was a great person. It's good to hear that she was herself right up to the end. Many people are less fortunate.
I'm sorry for your loss, but glad you had a good person like her in your life, and that she had lots of loving family.

It is evident that she will live forever in you and the rest of the people she touched.
The wicker casket it a very appropriate touch.
Peace of heart to you and your Alan _________________ Lagniappe readily offered and accepted,
