|
|
I finally finished my SE3 that I got just after Christmas.
It has a couple of rough spots in the cylinders from being seized up for so long but you can hear in the video as it picks up speed as it starts to run itself in again.
I think after a few more runs it will be up to full speed.
The repainted firebox held up pretty well.
Minor crazying of the paint on the top lip of the firebox where it was in the flame for 5 minutes so I think it will be about as durable as the original Mamod firebox paint.
Pleased with the result.

Spot on Tony.
And you can make toast on the flame licking around the boiler, while you're steaming it. _________________ He who keeps his head while all about him are losing theirs, doesn't know how serious it is. |

It's an excellent runner mate.
I'll watch it again tonight, I don't have sound on my work computer. _________________ He who keeps his head while all about him are losing theirs, doesn't know how serious it is. |

Brilliant engine mate, it's a self starter aswell and you seem to be able to control the speed really well. _________________ Now a Bowman, S.E.L, Wilesco and Hobbies collecter aswell as Mamod......of course. |

Wonderful vid, Tony! It runs great, I'd say. What offset angle did you settle on for the cranks? _________________ -Chuck

I lined then up 180 degrees apart and then tweaked it by about 5 to 10 degrees off and it seems to run quiet well like that. _________________ http://www.freewebs.com/ozsteam/index.htm

That set up allows for a bit of 'overlap'! |
