I've just dug the Major out of its box in the spare room, Just realised that about 2 hours work with the right parts would have it running. Though it will be far from perfect. So....
1. I am missing one knurled nut, one that holds the cylinder on the port face, its a very small thread and I have no nuts that small. Can anyone help?
2 The boiler is in a sorry state, only half a whistle but seemingly no boss in the boiler, no safety valve and a level plug hole bunged up with e-POXY metal. So, in short has anyone got a whistle, a safety valve and a level bung of the correct pattern?.
3 I have no burner, anyone got one?
I could fit all mamod fittings (bar the burner), I've priced the job up and £20 plus postage should have the neccassary parts. However the whislte would be a bit overpowering, does anybody have a twisty lever type of whistle for sale? |

I think Barry sells the safety valves but like you said it might be worth using mamod parts!
the whistles are hard to find, you could make one if you have the time/skills _________________ Solid Fuel tablets explode
You could get a nice flatbase for that

Yes. Barry does, just got a couple from him, and very nice they are too. They look a lot better on an SEL than Mamod parts. I think he also does overflow plugs. You could try Dudley Arnold for a burner he has had them for sale in the past. |

Thanks to John and MM for the recommendation
I can do SV and WLP if you still want some. I have an SEL Major and can check on the small knurnled thread for you. It could possibly be a BA thread which I can cut in the w'shop.
Let me know if I can help.
