this only came yesterday it is a contender for fitting in my soon to be steam tug
it is a three cylinder fitted with a reverse lever anybody else got one that could help with the pipework.
the final image shows boiler burner arrangement
both the boiler and the burner are fitted with safety valves a small flexible tube is fitted to the nipple on the top leading to an open end that attaches to the chimmney if you have one or just left hanging in the chimmney void if you dont. but note bleow the boiler safety valve there is a take off either side i know from the booklet that the front one the one you can see should be blanked but what is the other for? The steam take off by the way is from the regulator device forward of the safety valve.
The second takeoff could be for a pressure gauge or a whistle or both.
It looks as if the steam pipe goes from your takeoff on the boiler, loops in and out of the chimney hole to superheat the steam, and then attaches to the lubricator on the engine. _________________ Les - Nolo Servile Capistrum
one other question i forgot to ask why two lubricators?
super cool David, I like that very much. and you have the rare smoke unit (I was very happy when i got hold of one). I'll dig around for some pictures of the pipework. STEAMPROPULSION may have one of these 3 cylinders, I have the 2 cylinder.
Also, try Les for the pipework he received in his surprise bag'o'bits. There may well have been some Saito pipework there..I bought the burner.
Do you have pictures of the other side of the engine and the two ends? Still trying to figure out how it works. Never seen a revering lever in that location. Presumably it can be adjusted through 180 degrees to facilitate servo hook up.
Is there a throttle regulator arm on the other side?
It looks like each cylinder exhausts individually, so no separation tank? _________________ Richard

you are right les one of the take offs is for a pressure guage.

richard it doesnt look as though you can alter the reverse lever.
speed is adjusted by the valve on the regulator which also operates the whisle.
i will take more pictures when i get home from the farm i'll put them in the pics & video section.
She sure looks the treat and in new condition if not actually unused!! Good for you.
Not to be a party pooper...but is that a 2 cylinder boiler ? That three cylinder engine can have an great steam appetite!

you are correct it is the boiler reccomended
for the two cylinder engine i'm a little bit concerned about that but i do have a macsteam boiler sat in the hull so at the worst i can mix and match.
Is there an economical source for 1/8" copper tees that are to be soldered? I have been trying to find two and they are either out of stock or outrageously expensive. _________________ Non Impedite Raditioni Cogitationis
