As posted on the original intro I'm the Sandman or SM to most.

I was born in July 1948 and was the first Caesarean section performed in the hospital.

My dad witnessed the operation and he told me he offered the doctor 30 quid to put me back in.

My dad was not impressed with me at all. He said I was such an ugly baby, it was 6 months before my mom knew what end to feed.

I have some fond memories of growing up. The next door neighbours mother in law was killed by a mad dog. My dad went to the funeral early to see if he could buy it.

We were a very poor family and there was no way I would ever get a Mamod for Xmas.

We were so poor, we couldn't afford laxatives, so my mom used to sit me on a potty and tell me ghost stories.

I can always say my school was approved. The teachers used to frisk us for weapons on the way in and if we didn't have any they gave us some.

Despite all I did grow up and of course started to go to the pub. We had rough pubs in our town. They had bouncers at the door to throw the drunks in.

But I survived all that and eventually found toy steam and this forum.

I've never looked back since.

Thanks everyone for your help and your friendship.

Sandman.

I have met this man and I'm sure every bit of his tale is true. Sandy you are a piece of work as we like to say...and a fine one at that. Pleasure to count you amongst friends.

cheers,

If you hunt haggis, what does a live haggis actually look like?
