The collection to date comprises the following engines, all of which are fired from time to time.

Traction Engines:

Mamod Goliath Piston Valve

Mamod Te1a

Wilesco D409 Showmans

Mercer Type 2

Stationary Engines:

Wilesco D22

Wilesco D21

Wilesco D20

Wilesco D455

Wilesco D14

Mamod SE3

Mamod SP4

Mamod SP6

Jensen 75

Engine number 14 is a box of rusty and missing parts for a Wilesco D415 traction engine, an ongoing project.

I'm trying hard to resist the siren calls of for example, Bowman, Fleischmann and Marklin engines whenever they appear on eBay.

Welcome to the forums

That is a fantastic collection   . I need to get a SP6.

What is the clearance like between the rear wheels and flywheel on the goliath with the tyres on? My challenger has very little clearance so I can't get tyres on. I know Rollers aren't meant to have tyres, but I thought they must have been the same with the TE's

That D21 is a particularly handsome engine. The cast rods really do the trick. Of course, the traction engines are my favorites, particularly the Mercer.

Y'know... a smokebox door casting would look nice on the showman's engine...
