I do not see how the weight of a pair of Fender Washers could make any difference at all, but...

Sorry for the long video, those are clips from over 45 minutes of running. The Bowman Locos do have longer run times than the Mamods

over 45 minutes run, and there was still water in the boiler and Meths in the burner, I bet this one could go an hour.

Very nice John! and the video was not too long, I think I could have watched the entire 45 minutes.

I can't wait to finally fire mine up.

Do you have a scale that measures smaller weight? I can weigh the lead weight in mine and see how close it is to the weight of your washers.

Just checked, and it weighs 4.2 ounces.

It really makes you wonder how much trouble the designers had until someone came up with the idea of putting some weight in the burner.

WOW! It certainly goes with a vengence now

The centre of gravity must be pretty close to the front axle without the extra weight so that a small weight at the rear makes all the difference. It probably only needs the full weight if it's pulling a load.
