Just a couple of pictures showing my live steam collection.
I've got another Mamod in the workshop waiting to be rebuilt too.
Gee would you look at the dust on these.
I guess I really should clean them and try and steam a couple of them this weekend.

Steam just a couple? Why not steam them all?
Would love to see the small one in front running - it's got geared drive from the cab it looks like.
Quite a nice and diverse collection you have there. |

Can't steam the Lady Anne as I still need to redo the timing, the Bowman still needs some work to run and I've never steamed the little one yet, Haven't quiet managed to bring myself to do it as the paint is so good.
But there won't be a better reason than this weekend to steam it. _________________ http://www.freewebs.com/ozsteam/index.htm

Can they run on the same track or do you need different gauges for each loco?? _________________ Les - Nolo Servile Capistrum

This next post isn't strictly steam as this company never made live steam locos only wind up and electric.
But Australian made live steam engines are pretty rare so I settled for some OZ made rolling stock for my existing locos.
To give you an idea how rare I would say for ever 5 or 6 Se4s that come up one Renown loco does and for every 7 or 8 Se4s one Scorpion loco. We then move out of the 'common' Australian engines to the rare ones. Victa for example there is only 2 known examples that have survived.
Robilt started around 1945 and like most other Australian toy brands slowly died out in the 60th with the arrival of overseas toys. Not sure when exactly when these were made but here is my two Robilt freight carriages, still with boxes.
Behind a wind up Robilt VR52 loco I got at the same time as the rolling stock.
And a close up of the loco that needs work before it will run.
One can only hope that next year I actually have an Australian made live steamer to show instead of a wind up one. _________________ http://www.freewebs.com/ozsteam/index.htm

I'm assuming you mean the Robilt VR52.
I'll take some later. It is a wind up loco not live steam but its my only Australian loco _________________ http://www.freewebs.com/ozsteam/index.htm

Well I finally did it.
Eleven months after buying my little single cylinder Bing I finally fired it.
Did it work, did all the paint fall off?
Well lets look at some stills first then the video.
Fire is lit, no turning back now.
This loco probably hasn't been run in decades, so does it work, lets find out.

Yes had them ready and waiting but was no use hooking them up.
Just gave it another try and it was slightly better again but still only manages 1 1/2 laps.
On blocks it ill run forever but not on the track.
Not sure what to do next with it. _________________ http://www.freewebs.com/ozsteam/index.htm

I made this video this afternoon but only just managed to get it uploaded.
As my little Bing didn't want to play I decided to run my Big Bing.
Its needs atleast 3 carriages just to slow it down.
Enjoy.

It is wonderful to see it running, is that the one which needed loctiting or the one you ruined the paintwork on?? _________________ Les - Nolo Servile Capistrum
