I had some spare time today so I thought I would give both Dougie and Rosa a run together. It's something I'd never done before so it was a first for me. You will see the layout below, and what and how I was running them both together.

Dougie

I ran him completely standard, i.e, original pistons, safety valve and yes, on SOLID FUEL

He runs great on solid fuel actually, quite suprising! comes up to it's max pressure quicker, but it has an original safety valve, so it has less pressure to build.

Rosa

She's modded out to the max, with safety valve, cylinders, top up valve and meths burner.

She runs great on meths, takes a bit more time to build up that extra pressure though ideally it may be better to have both loco's the same but, ,my patio area isn't very level, so Rosa can push Dougie up those hills

Generally I was getting more pulling power up hills and it was quite good to watch. You may be able to see in the video it was quite windy out there, but the run wasn't hampered too much I thought. I tried running them seperatly but Rosa kept catching up

Video

And there we have it

I may try it again some time. I will eventually get Dougie a meths burner and safety valve. Plus a couple of tenders.

Almost forgot, you can now see the Number 9 on the back which James kindly sent me free of charge Cheers Jimmy

Looks good. Did you have to fiddle to get the speeds about the same, or did they just sort themselves out?

I must admit MM I was rather worried when Dougie passed the camera for the second time and it sounded like a lawnmower

Thanks GJ

You have enough track for a circle without the straights! That track in the video is bigger than the standard mamod circuit because I added an extra straight each end

Cue the "Push Me Pull You" song from Dr Doolittle.

Great video mate.

Rosa is still a class act.
