Strange Poll

Anyway, I voted no

But I would say it's something German, since someone from Germany is so very keen to send cash in a enevelope to pay for it

I've voted no, mainly becuase I'm at work and for some reason my work firewall is blocking all the pictures so I can't even see it.

It's a Fleishmann model and dates after the war and before about 1955. I've got one of these. Oldstuff is nearly right because Fleishmann brought out (took over) production of Doll in the late 1930's. The story is a little confusing because for awhile Doll traded under the Fleishmann name because his Jewish status stopped him being able to export models (Doll and most of his family died during the war).

The best way to tell is colour, cab shape and markings. I think the body work on the cab of that model was once orange(ish) and the cab shape says it's a Fleishmann. What you need to do is turn it over and see if any marking underneath (Mine says US Zone Germany, so post war and before 1949).

Hope all this helps....

Now I can see the photos its in pretty rough condition and it looks like it missing a few bits.
Namely half the engine mount and the cylinder and piston for a start

I stand corrected, thanks Manxman. It was the flywheel with the painted arrow
that made me think Doll. I'll edit my post above to say I think it's a Doll...

No problems, the whole Doll / Fleishmann thing is very difficult. I've been collecting pics of both for a few years now, and it's only by having these that I know which side of the war (and therefore who) is likely to have made the engine.

there was a third answer that said, "I do, but i haven't checked yes" option. It didn't make it on for some reason ! It is in kalamazoo, just 15 miles to where i live!!! I'm thinking about bidding on it.

If it was close to me, I'd be bidding on it. I'm not sure I'd want to pay very much but could be a very nice project.
