I am going to start a Website and I am looking at using Freewebs.
I am not a computer 'Geek' as such (no offence intended) but I am not sure which package to go for.
It is either the "Ad-Free" or "Starter" package but the Technical Jargon confuses me i.e. Web Storage/Bandwidth.

As a few of you use Freewebs I would value your advice on which is the best package to use.
Thanks in advance for your help. _________________ Les - Old age isn't so bad when you consider the alternatives.

You can start with the free service but you will only get 12 pages and you may fill them up but then you can change to a paid service.
If you keep all your photos on photobucket you should have a bandwidth problewm.
Bandwidth is how many Megs of photos / videos / text etc that can be downloaded from your website before freewebs turns it off for the rest of the month. But basically is you keep the photos on photobucket and just link there unless your website gets 1000s of visits a day bandwidth will not be a problem. _________________ http://www.freewebs.com/ozsteam/index.htm

I think I will definetely fill the 12 pages without any problems what so ever.
Is that the same way as we do now with photos' on the Forum? _________________ Les - Old age isn't so bad when you consider the alternatives.

Get your feet wet with the free service, then decide if you wish to upgrade. _________________ Your life is an occasion...Rise to it |

Pretty much only difference is instead of using the IMG bit on photo bucket you use the direct link bit. _________________ http://www.freewebs.com/ozsteam/index.htm

Go for it Les
Its loads of work in the beginning but once you are on top it’s just a matter of updating every time you get a new engine or accessory.
Its loads of fun, I for one cant wait to see all your collection in one place mate. _________________ Carpe diem

Has freewebs changed their limits?
I went for the free option and now have 14 pages. There isn't really that many ads on my site either. |

Just signed up to Freewebs basic site, no cost, but as you say plenty of hard work to start with but I think it will be worth it in the end. _________________ Les - Old age isn't so bad when you consider the alternatives.

Les, since my site is basically a photo album, I just created a new photobucket username for my website pictures.
I think this makes it easier so you can keep track of what you add to your site. Take your time and add a few things a day like me. It makes it much easier than doing it all at once. |

Like so many Cookie based operations, make sure that the last Photobucket site you logged into is the one you are wanting to use. As it uses the cookies in you browser to direct you to Pbucket. _________________ Your life is an occasion...Rise to it |

I am going to stick to one site as it will be less confusing that way.
I am using my original pictures and if I find one I do not like I will re-take it.
Thought it best to start with the 'A's so Arnold is first.
I have not written an opening page yet, thought I do that as I went along. _________________ Les - Old age isn't so bad when you consider the alternatives.
