I just had a call from my bank, to find that someone has been using my debit card to buy things. In other words fraud
The call operator read out a whole list of companies that I had never heard of before and I had to state whether I had used them or not. Unluckily, some of these businesses accepted the payment details but I should be able to get it all back my the end of the month...
So now I have had to destroy my card and now I have to wait 7 days for a new card as well as a new pin. So I won't be able to withdraw any money for quite some time
That's life I suppose _________________ Si

Happened to my twice in Dec and Jan, got me for just over $2000, got it all back in the end but I can tell you cancelling your credit card 16 days before Christmas is not good.
Check you PC for spywear, that's how I think they got mine. I ended up buying a new HD and doing a clean install just to be sure I had no nasties left on my PC. _________________ http://www.freewebs.com/ozsteam/index.htm

We had a similar promlem with BT. Somone had run up a bill for £4,000 calling A brazilian mobile and they expected us to pay for it because it was our adress that was given. Despite them knowing who made the calls!
Sorry to hear anyway mate! _________________ I Like SP2 engines a little too much

Hope you get it sorted ok, Si. _________________ David.

That's very annoying Si.
I wish more traders would sign up to the extra security system that has been introduced by banks like RBS. This takes you to a separate secure webpage asking you for four random characters or numbers from your personal security code, prior to authorising the transaction.
I've not suffered any fraud yet, but did suffer from online transactions failing because RBS had decided that I was spending too much on my card!
Hope you've got some other form of cash, etc for all your purchases at Merstham this week-end! _________________ Chris Cairns.

Chris,
I just so happened to withdraw £200 in cash today to place a deposit on an Accucraft Baldwin, but as 'the governer' of the shop I went to wasn't in I was unable to do this.
I hope not to spend too much at Merstham but I know I will buy something rather expensive _________________ Si
