My wife is very tolerant of my hobby, and my kids love my engines. As long as I don't actually set fire to any furniture or poison the cat I can pretty much do what I like.

My Gran just rolls her eyes at my grandad and I when i bring a new engine home or are out in the workshop for days and days
One of the 2 dining tables in there house is usually in use as an assembly table and the shelf that TV is on in the kitchen usually has something on and the radiator usually has curing paint on it
