I think it's the top pone, and then as soon as it disappears below the bottom one you blow it out.

Yep, James is right - fill to the top one & blow out when it reaches bottom one. Actually, you need better eyes than mine to see (OK in daylight) but an Esbit seems to last just the right time. I did measure how many cc's of water it takes but have forgotten! Having a central flue it is very tiny capacity but was still surprised by length of run.

the closets i am to the D32 at the moment is my D20

aulthogh if you remove and rearange the letters and numbers in d20 and d3 you get D32

my little pic on msn is a D32 with heavan on earth written over it
