I've moved these pics from another part of the forum to show you how the TE looked when I got it.




I've now done the first job of making a new back plate. Seems fine and an ok fit. I'm not very good at these things but it seems to work. I've also given the brass a bit of a polish and given the whole thing a coating of black paint. This now seems about right to build upon.

Thanks for the comments. Going well and I've found a piston that is a good fit in my 'spares box'. I've also got the flywheel. Biggest problem is going to be wheels. At the moment it is either 3 original wheels, 4 standard Wells, 4 standard Mamod, or MTA maybe able to get me something a little different.

My teacher was not having the best of days, he was called out during our lesson apparently as his wife was rushed into hospital Apparently they were expecting, so I hope it's good news! I'll chase it up at a later date when things are calmer at school!!!
