I know, I know. Some of you may be getting a little bored of seeing pics of these but this is my latest Wells purchase.

On the good side, It's a classic example, even down to the paint job. The safety valve and front screw are different and bring that little bit of class (get it class, school, oh well).

On the bad side one of the Barley Twist pillars was missing and so I've had to swap them for plain brass rods. Also, no fire tray.

You must be well please with that one Manx (no pun intended!) with the school name too - you may be able to find who built it? Great looking little engine. Love the colours!!

The school is the one where Kenneth Wells was a teacher and I added those when I cleaned it. Better than nothing but not as good as a proper sign.

No. It's one piece and will not move. It should be a very long screw and it maybe just that with a special 'home made' end.

Nice looking example Manx.
I should be getting my book early next week and I'm sure it will prove an interesting read.
MTA you were going to try and wangle some Wells castings.
Hows that coming along?

Actually, not that many. I tend to get them and then sell them on. I only have two now but both are good examples with canopies and lots of original features.

I think what tends to happen is that over time, bits are replaced and fixed with Mamod parts.

I think that is it for me and Wells for a little while.

You got lots of bits and even a fire tray I need.... I let you know the next time one comes up on ebay. I think this one cost me less than £40.00.
