Morning guy`s n Dolls,
Look I`m aware this is not a Live Steam Loco`, But!, it is part of one,

I`m in the Market for a "Ceramic Burner" to be used in a Number of Loco`s I own and/or Built, The required diemensions are:
"52mm long x 35mm Wide x 28mm High", Now these are the
maximum the Basic Burner can be, a tad smaller is not a problem
to me!.
Failing any commercial outlets, is it possible to obtain the Ceramic
Material used in the Burners and I`ll build my own!.

Well, I`m all ears!.

Thanks Folks ,
John.

John

The ceramic part is easy if you have a
pottery supplier at hand

SOFT BRICK is what you can cut - then drill holes in and use as the radiant part-- brass tube and jet etc the other parts. Loks just like a white cinder brick but cut-able

Have you looked at Forest Classics at their affordable burners?

This looks good on the dimensions

Hi John.
If you have to make it you can buy the ceramic insert the same as the picture above from Jewelers supply shops as they use them for soldering blocks.
Seivers in Perth usually stocks them for around $10 a tile which would give you enough material to make more burners than you will ever need.

Mogo,
I have looked at Forrest Classic`s offerings, but I`m afraid
none of them is around the size I require!.

Tmuir,
Thanks for your offering also, I will give them a ring and see what
comes out of the Woodwork!.

I`ll keep you both informed of my progress!.

John.

Hi John,
Glad you got some.
I actually just work in East Perth and popped into Seivers today to buy some needle files.
I do enjoy going in there and looking at all their fancy tools, 90% of which I can't afford to buy though.
