That's  a Mamod Minor 2, or abbreviated MM2, and asking questions is not ignorant  , the forum is meant for asking questions A MM2 has 13 hole across the length of the base, while a mm1 has 9

Thats a good way to do it!

I just judge by the chimney. the mm1 is short and fat, the mm2 is longer and thinner!

an intersting fact is, the te1, te1a, and sr1 and the sr1a share the same engine block as the mm2

All that one needs is a good clean up, an easy restore as no paint is needed, When polishing the boiler, flip it back around.

the way I identify it is the firebox, at the top, the MM1 has no lip, the MM2 does!

I check for the number of holes along the side of the base, either 9 or 13.
