It came through at arround 17:30 over the viaduct heading towards Durham and then York, only found out about 20 minutes before hand that it was passing through

Hi David thanks for thinking of me, funny enough I have not checked the timetables for weeks and today just before it went past I popped onto the website to see if anything was passing by this month. What a stroke of luck.

yes often when steam goes past it usually goes past very fast and often with the whistle blowing

I like living next to this viaduct, it contains 3 million bricks and was built for the Edinborough - London railway in the 1850's its now part of the East Coast Mainline

Excelent view. Glad to see they sorted last weekends problems out. Apparantly it had a failed piston ring.
