I'm very grateful for the excellent packing - the box you see in the background is very strong, and that was only part of it. I love it when sellers go the extra mile.
I'm very pleased, overall the engine is in great order - the paint on the base is great! The firebox has been overpainted many times, so much so that the Bing logo has been obscured, but this surely has helped prevent rust, so I'm positive the metal underneath will be in good nick. A few non-original "fixes": boiler bands, and the firebox is held by meccano brackets - I think I'll probably find a better solution for that.
The dynamo looks very good indeed, and the original bulb is so bautiful it makes my heart beat a little faster. It also came with a bunch of bits, including what looks like a very early Bing pressure gauge....did this engine ever have one?
A little sympathetic restoration, and I'm sure she'll come right back to life. And don't worry patina lovers, I won't polish the boiler!
Happy Moose, signing off. Enjoy the pics, I've included some details I was asked for in another thread.

Common dirt seems to be the main issue and what matters is there and fine
No pressure gauge on that one _________________ Et in Arcadia Ego |

What a great buy Moose, I would say it is possibly a 10/116/1 or 2 c1927. _________________ Les - Don't panic - it's your round next.

I have seen 5 to 10 of these engines and this is one is in better shape then most of the others I have seen. I think you did very well. Now lets see a video of it running. _________________ Jeff Member of the Georgia Steamers Association.

Well, at the moment the firebox is having a nice relaxing bath in an electrolysis tub
I've tested the generator for continuity, and all appears well. The sight glass tube is broken, but that is a relatively easy fix.
One thing puzzles me though.
There is a factory fitted bush in the boiler, which has a modern looking blanking plug in it. With the engine came a damaged Bing pressure gauge which sees the right fit, but I can't find any reference to this engine having a pressure gauge....what do you think???
