This arrived today, I'm very impressed by it.

It's quite dirty, and missing few pieces in places.
The plan is too try and source as many original parts as possible.

No repaint, except maybe the firebox.
The rest of paintwork is quite nice actually, which I'm sure it will benefit from a clean first then maybe theres something I can do too restore some shine. Any idea's much welcomed.

They seem to be lacquered to a shine so where there is lacquer left it will just be a matter of wiping down.

Do you know the burner or do you need a pic of it?

Didn't come with a burner I'm afraid.

That's a nice project for you Abdul. Needs a bit of work, but nothing really serious. Good luck with the restoration.

If you can take some close-up photos of the sight glass assembly (front and back) and where it attaches to the boiler, I may be able to help you.

That will do

It had the same whistle but with bells sitting in the grooves. However you can either add the bells

Been busy this weekend.

The firebox was quite rusty on the inside & bit on the outside. That has now been sorted. It is now rust free & repainted. The cylinder cover also got a repaint.

The base responded well too a good clean & it's now got some shine back.

Back together now.

The next thing I attempted too fix is the pressure gauge.

Well I don't think that's going too happen, I opened it up, it's a bit far gone.

The main copper tube part is finished, it's snapped.
I can tell someone has been here before me.

I'm on the search for a new one. I've got one coming, a Wilesco version, however I might use that on my Bing, not sure yet.

I'll still have too track one down, anybody know any suppliers?

Keep the glass, casing and stand. There are modern gauges in about same size so maybe the working parts can be transfered?

In a spot of bother now. Sight glass fitted, but went too put some water in, it came straight back out.

When the engine arrived, a broken half an insert fell out of the boiler.

I didn't think much of it till now. However it turns out it's half a sight glass thread. These threads are sealed on one end, stopping any water coming through. The top one is fine, however the bottom is a different story.

Will post a pic up soon, so you get what I'm on about.
Needless too say, I'm not very happy about it.

On a good note, the safety valve weight arrived today.
