I've just finsihed fitting the cylinders and valve ports to the chasis.
I now need to start to put together all the linkages for the valve timing.
I've taken photos but battery went flat after last photo so need to recharge them before I can put the pictures up.
Will try and do that tomorrow. |

I've just added two more pages with photos to my website,
These are on the fitting of the coupling rods, the cylinder and valve chests.
Once I have assembled a bit more of the Walschaerts type valve gear I will put more up.

The parts are all very well made, just wish my machining skills were that good.
I've never read a negative thing about roundhouse and so far I would agree with it.
Very prompt replies to emails, well made components and very good instructions. |

You can definatly see it's well made Tmuir! it would take a very silly person to argue that point
I like the look of it so far, keep us posted! _________________ Solid Fuel tablets explode

Just added another page to my website but my website is still behind my construction.
I spoke to Roundhouse tonight about the faulty lifting arm I received and they will be sending me a replacement tomorrow. _________________ http://www.freewebs.com/ozsteam/index.htm

It's in their interest to keep me happy though as I still have 350 pounds of engine to buy and maybe another 100 pounds if I decide to get the tender.
But everything I have ever read about Roundhouse all say their customer service is top notch and they will send replacement parts out without a problem if they were supplied faulty. _________________ http://www.freewebs.com/ozsteam/index.htm

After another hour or so tonight of playing around with the timing I think I've got it to within about 95 to 98% of perfect which is good enough for now.
I even got out a 1.2m section of track and drove it up and down it with my bike pump.
I've painted the smokebox with gloss heat proof paint today so leaving it it dry over night and the tomorrow will bake it to cure the paint.
I will then bend up the superheater and exhaust pipes and fit the smokebox.
Once I've fitted it, it will be time for a photo op.
Here is a top down view showing the completed chassis.
Notice the superheater is connected but not bent up yet.

Nice pic tmuir, I didn't realise that the valve gear stuck out that far from the frames _________________ Si
