Here is a film from Petri's visit here in early May. We ran some engines and this film is a result of some of the runs.
No presentations or talk here, just plane runs of the models.

forgive that the light conditions and camerawork here is less then good, it is not filmed at my usual film place since it is the work of a social gathering.

I love that ball track, looks marvellous!
Would be exciting to see it in combination with a beam engine, this
combination a beam going up and down and the marble-machine.

A wonderful fairy tale, Knut ...

The marble game is a must have; indeed ...

If I may share a centenarian one, from Ernst Plank, 1914 :

Since then Bohm staff made a wonderful job !

I am sure this honourable ancestor will be visited by its new cousin ROLL-1 very soon  ...

I have a question for you , Knut, about that :

I was wondering why Bohm engines show identical prices in Kit form, or assembled ?  ...
Did I miss something on the website ?

I would not like to order an assembled Steampunk, and receive a kit form ! ( not for me ! ...    )

It is not for me either to build these things myself. However, Böhm is a company that do things properly, also their oder handling so the chance you get something you did not order, as in "ready to run/not ready", it seem to me to be wonder about a problem that does not really exsist. I have had no such problems with Böhm ever.

About the cost RTR vs self build, I recon, the cost in production of the parts are the same, of course it is, and that the self build sets need other more expencive packing, other form of instructions,, experience Im sure tell,, also more second hand after sale customer service etc etc.. All ad up to make the price the same for the factory to make the same marginal profit.
A bit like the paralel to what made Wiggers stop making kits in 2005 and shift to RTR models only. Self builds are a source of a lot of extra work for the company.

That brings back fond memories

We ran the engines with the mechanism turned towards as I was fascinated by the gearing. It really shows how well made these things are.

Marvelous fun
