One of my four budgies,Nibbles, who is five had a sizable seizure on Thursday. I've kept budgies for over 30 years and I've seen this happen before. One I had called Baldrica had quite a few but lived to the ripe old age of 17. The best thing is to leave them quiet and safe and they usually recover. There's nothing a vet can do for this.
Nibbles however, was having trouble with his eye sight and couldn't seem to focus close up. He could get to the seed and water but couldn't seem to find where the seeds were and stopped eating.
By Friday evening it was time for drastic action, so I ground up some seed and water and began feeding him by hand with a teaspoon ever three hours or so. The last thing I really wanted to do was pick him up and stress him, but the situation was extremely poor. I left him alone at night and fed him throughout today. He greeted this with varying degrees of gratitude. To be honest, I really didn't expect him to pull through, but to my surprise he started preening and feeding by himself this evening.
He is not out of the woods yet by any means, but I do believe the little tinker is going to pull through.

I just thought I would share a little bit of good news with you all

Graham

They are funny critters who need stimulances, ie. entertainment.

Hope he gets well

Thanks for the best wishes! I've passed them on.
This morning he is chomping merrily on a plump sprig of millet. Result!!
That's my favourite 'restoration to original condition' so far...

We get birds flying into the windows from time to time. That is what we use to nurse them back to their feet.

Some of course perish but plenty get to fly away for a other day

For those wondering, birds freeze to death or starve in zero time if you don't nurse them. They have super fast metabolism if they're small.
