...testing my Marklin LocomobileThe sightglass was missing but i had no desire for making one...
Well, at last i sorted this problem out...
The first and the second time it didn't ran well:
The sightglass was leaking a lot, also the water tap...
Engine was too slow, too.
Put in new rubbers for the water gauge, tightened the screws on the water tap and made the wicks on the burner a bit longer..
This is now the third run.
Maybe some of you will remember this engine.
It is a nice big marklin lokomobile, missing the base completely.
So i put it onto a nice mahaghoni baseplate.
Now it runs very well:

It is impressive at how slow you can get it to run and has the speed and power when you need it. Thanks Mirko.

Throttles very well doesn't it?! Looking good and as far as i'm concerned a mahogany base suits anything

Thanks!
Yes, the throttle does work very well and the engine can go quite slow, although it is only a single acting engine
Had to run it in a few minutes before taking the video...but now it runs good

Very nice engine, great throttle control
Nice base. Did you make it yourself? Nice routing detail on the edge. I'm not sure I've seen a bit that would produce that profile.
You didn't mention the pile driver.
When it first appeared I thought for a second it was a guillotine.
