1920's Wilesco Workshop "Steamed"

Well, not really 1920's
But i wanted a workshop in that look...
So as the old original ones are high-priced, i decided to get me a used wilesco D141....
This is what it looked like:

This is how it looks now   (sorry for the bad pictures)

Here's a video, running on air...

By the way: the flywheel is a 10cm cast iron marklin flywheel (had one in spare and no use for )

That Floor really did the trick. beautiful.

Thanks

I also added a wilesco lamp and the dynamo.
This model was sold as the D141 (without electrical light) and as a D141 D (if i remember correct, this is the number, with includesa red dynamo and the lamp)
So this is a nice extra i added..also made the wire by myself..twisted yellow and blue electrical wires..makes a nice colour arrangement

The floor is cut-to-fit doll's house papertiles...glues to the base, pre-fixed with hairspray  and fixed with some coats of clear laquer

That was a very good price and in nice condition too:shock:

One not as good as that just sold on UK E-bay for ~ £110.

That floor is great and gives it a nice period feel

Well the condition was actually not very good..
Base was rusty on the edges and on top...
Boiler was full of limescale, boilerhousing full of soot
Was good work to get all clean

Very Nice!
Really like the floor!
You really need a work station to show what these engines were for.
tmuir

It's amazing what a difference that floor makes.
It looks better than it does new.
Nice job.
Graham-Jilly

great job looks and sounds great
Wallace

That floor made such a difference.

Nice job
Sandman

Great job Mirko.

I really like that.
Les

That floor really finishes it off and it runs well also.

Thank you all

I think i give it a go on steam next weekend!
The flywheel makes the engine go very smooth...very satisfied with that one!
IndianaRog

Stunning Mirko, amazing how a few key changes can make the whole thing look much older.  Well done!
Wilescoman_123

Steve_S

Very good Mirko, well done!
rangerssteamtoys

The floor and the dynamo made it all worth while. I want to see it on steam
igy569

Very nice!!    I had wondered if a heavier, larger flywheel would smooth things out.

Some ideas indeed!!

Here is the video of the workshop steamed
Runs very smooth and good!
Maybe i have to add next time a bit more tablets (this time 3 1/2 tablets)

If anybody is interested in this one, it is for sale now
Not because it runs bad, just have figured out is is simply too big for me No space left in my room
steamyman

that's a very fine looking workshop, Mirko.
Sandman

Great vid again Mirko.

I liked the tools working at the slower speed. Very realistic.
