As Jim says the company Was Merlin Beck although strictly speeking it is a Beck loco imported from Germany by Tom Cooper.
Tom imported the locos in the early 80's ancd converted them from 45mm to 32mm for sale in England. Later Tom started the company Merlin and they used Beck parts to fit their own bodywork. Not until Beck whent pop did Tom start calling his company Merlin Beck although he never actualy bought out Beck as a company.

Lovely engine there but we realy cant afford $850 plus postage

I've now bought the Merlin Beck (Midas) from my son Andy so that he had the money to buy the Erdig loco which he has recently posted about.
So 'Hazel' stays within the family but is undergoing a s*x change and will become, after a repaint, 'Harry' - Named after my grandfather Harry J W Sleigh who started the family firm in the early 1900's selling sheet rubber and jointing for steam engines under the trade name 'Boilertite'.
